Permanent Committee - Bill Henderson
Bill Henderson, with BS and MS Degrees in Sociology from Ohio University, is an Associate Professor (Emeritus), The Ohio State University, served as Ohio State University Extension Agent, 4-H in Allen County, nineteen years, and Northwest District Specialist, 4-H, Youth Development, twelve years. He has served as a trustee of Buckeye Leadership Workshop, for 27 years, planning and teaching at that workshop. He has taught at Recreation Leaders Workshops & Laboratories in Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Washington, and has taught recreation and song leadership in twelve additional states.
Bill directed 4-H resident camps for 19 years, co-directed Family and Single-Parent Family Camps for 5 years, developed and directed a science based 4-H Aerospace Adventure Camp for 7 years (utilizing Ohio Northern University, Dept of Engineering facilities and faculty), and developed and helped conduct a five-county 4-H Teen Leadership Conference for 15 years. He worked on a team that developed and hosted the 2002 National 4-H Camping Institute for 4-H professionals from throughout the United States.
In “re-‘tire’-ment”, Bill continues to work with Youth and Adult Team Building and Leadership Training, Rec-Labs, directing choirs, singing with a gospel trio known as “The Seekers”, and making traditional “string band” music with friends and neighbors.
