Youth - Ted Zech
Hello there, this is where I get to talk to you about myself and Buckeye.
I’ll begin with myself, I’m a 19 year old sophomore at The Ohio State University, and as of now am still searching for my major. I graduated from Wooster high school in 2007 where my interests included ice hockey, band, and being a member of the school paper as a photographer. I’ve been involved with 4-H since age 5 where I have made my rotation through every single official position available. I have also been a camp counselor at Super Camp, which is a younger version of BLW aimed towards 9-13 year olds. At Ohio State I was selected to attend camp Hetuck, which was a leadership camp that helped teach morals and teambuilding through discussion and activities. Since I have been at Ohio State I have taken a leadership education course, which I highly value as a teaching resource.
Above all the experiences, leadership roles, and classes I have taken is my experiences being at Buckeye. This year will be my 5th year at buckeye and 3rd on committee. Every year I have facilitated digital photography. Photography is a passion of mine and I enjoy teaching it and sharing it with others. There is always a wide variety of classes to take each year, but if there is one thing that I have learned it would be that the things I take back with me aren’t necessarily what I learned in the classes but rather my experiences with the people I meet. Buckeye itself is an experience you can not put into words, and can never be explained. To understand what really happens you need to experience it first hand.
In my opinion great things are learned from great people when you can interact with them on a personal level. I find myself truly honored to be surrounded by some of the greatest people the world will ever know, both on this committee and fellow workshoppers. That being said, I hope to see all of you at BLW. I’ve told you a little bit about myself and a little more about buckeye, but I would love to meet you and hear your side of the story.
