2011 - Tim Borton
Tim Borton has been involved with Buckeye Leadership Workshop since 1990. He has taught many classes and has been involved with planning of many of the evening programs which take place at workshop.
Because of the Buckeye experience, Tim pursued a career in recreation. He earned a Bachelors and Masters Degree in recreation from Bowling Green State University, and now works as the Program Director for a municipal parks and recreation department.
He is a part time instructor at BGSU in the Recreation and Sport Management Department where he shares his interests in recreation with the next generation of leaders.
Tim also operates a consulting business called Specializing in Fun where he implements customized recreation programs for many groups. Some of these programs have included an Olympic event for a 4-H camp, teambuilding activities for a teen leadership development conference, and a recreational dance program for international students at a boarding school. He has worked with groups as small as 10 and as large as 700.
All of these activities are done in his spare time since he is a husband and a father of 4 energetic children who enjoy playing with dad. Sometimes it is hard to figure out who the toys belong to; the kids or Dad.
Tim is currently President of the Buckeye Leadership Workshop Board of Directors.
